What is a Vape Mod?

Many Vapers prefer to buy Vape Mods and Vape Tanks Separately; that way, they can match the best vape mod with what they feel is the best vape tank for the way they vape.

The vape mod is the heart of every vape kit, providing the power to the coil in the vape tank, ready to be vapourised and turned into vapour.

Vape Mods come in many different styles, shapes and sizes and offer a range of various functions and customisable options like:

• Adjustable power:  Either through variable wattage or variable voltage, sometimes offering both, meaning that the user can alter the amount of power, enabling them to find the perfect combination of vapour production and flavour.
• Temperature Control: This means the user can control the coil's temperature, creating a warmer or a cooler vape experience.
• Digital Screens: The user can see things like power settings, battery life, puff counter, and sometimes even the time.
• Smart Functions: That means the chip inside the vape mod recognises the type of coil present in the tank and automatically alters the powers settings to create its best performance levels.

There have even been vape mods in the past that have had things like Blue Tooth Speakers and the ability to be a power bank to charge other devices like phones.

They Can be simple and offering just one or two of these functions or all singing and dancing, including all of them.

Types of Vape Mod

Vape Mods come in different types and form factors.

• Built-in battery:  The Mod has an internal battery that you recharge through a USB in the same way you would a regular vape kit. Batteries range in sizes and are referred having to as Mah; the higher the MAh rating, the longer-lasting the battery.

• External Batteries: Meaning that the Vape Mod runs on removable rechargeable batteries. The Smaller Devices will take a single battery and power levels that are under 100w. The Larger Devices will take two or even three rechargeable batteries, often offering the power of more than 160w. External Battery Vape Mods Sometimes do not come with a USB charging port, so it is essential to check the product descriptions. However, we do recommend using separate battery chargers with this kind of Mod.

• Regulated vape mods: In simple terms, this means that the Mod operates with a chipset and is often seen as the safest type of vape mod as they offer many different types of protection against overcharging or battery shorts. Regulated Vape Mods Also provide many of the features we discussed previously.

• Unregulated vape mods: We would only recommend that you use unregulated mods if you have experience of advanced vaping and an understanding of Ohms law. An Unregulated Mod works directly off the battery without a chipset and have none of the safety features we previously mentioned.

• Squonk Mods: Squonk Vape Mods are used by advanced users who like to use RDAs, called dripping because they drip the e-liquid from the juice bottle onto the coil. Rda Users feel that they have the Ultimate in flavour and vapour experience but are sometimes frustrated by the need to drip the e-liquid every few puffs constantly. This frustration is where Squonk mods come in. The Mod itself will have a Bottle for the E-liquid Built-in, which will connect to the Rda's bottom via a Squonk Pin and rather than have to drip when the coils and cotton become dry, they simply squeeze the squonk bottle.

How to Choose a Vape Mod?

When choosing a Vape Mod, 99% of users will find themselves with either a Built-in Battery regulated Mod or an external battery regulated mod. These will provide them with all of the features and safety functions whilst still providing them with all of the power that they could need. 

When Choosing your vape mod, we offer the following advice. 

• If you are a Mouth to lung vaper that uses a smaller vape tank, you will suit either a Built-in Battery Vape Mod or a Single External Battery Vape Mod. You will find that these offer you a fantastic combination of function and battery life without being too oversized, 
• If you are a Sub Ohm Vaper looking for High Power and Battery life, we recommend choosing a regulated vape mod that takes two external batteries. That way, you will have all the power and functionality combined with enough battery life to keep you going about your day.
