Prefilled Vape Pods
What Are Prefilled Vape Pods?
Prefilled vape pods are sealed, ready-to-use pods that come filled with e-liquid and a built-in coil. You snap one into a compatible device and start vaping straight away. When the flavour fades or the liquid runs out, you throw the pod away and click in a fresh one.
They are sometimes called closed pods or no refill vape pods. The whole unit is designed to be replaced, not topped up, which is what makes them so simple to live with.
Who Are Prefilled Pods Best For?
Prefilled pods suit anyone who wants vaping to be low effort. If you do not want to deal with bottles of e-liquid, coil swaps or sticky fingers, this is the format for you. They are also a popular step up from disposables: you keep the same plug-and-play feel but get a better battery and less waste, since you reuse the device.
Pair them with a prefilled pod kit if you are starting fresh, or stock up on replacement pods if you already own a compatible device. New to vaping entirely? Have a look at vape starter kits first.
Prefilled vs Refillable Vape Pods
Both formats use the same basic idea: a pod clicks into a battery. The difference is what you do when the e-liquid runs out.
| Feature | Prefilled Pods | Refillable Pods |
|---|---|---|
| Filling | None, sealed at the factory | You fill them from a bottle |
| Flavour choice | Limited to what's sold prefilled | Any 10ml e-liquid you like |
| Coil changes | None, replace the whole pod | Coil built into pod or sold separately |
| Running cost | Higher per ml | Lower per ml |
| Effort | Minimal | Some upkeep needed |
| Best for | Convenience, simplicity | Variety, value |
If running cost and flavour range matter more to you than convenience, take a look at refillable vape pods instead.
Choosing Compatible Replacement Pods
Prefilled pods are not universal. Each pod is designed to fit a specific device or device family, so the first step is always checking compatibility with your kit. The pod you buy needs to match the brand and model of your battery: a pod made for one system will not click into another.
Popular pod families include Lost Mary pods, Hayati pods, OXVA pods and Vaporesso pods. If you are unsure, check the product description on your original kit or browse the full vape pods collection by brand.
Flavours, Nicotine Strengths and Puff Counts
Once you have got compatibility sorted, the fun starts. Prefilled pods come in a huge range of flavours: classic fruits, menthol and ice blends, tobacco, soft drinks, desserts and the increasingly popular sweet-and-sour combinations.
Nicotine strength in the UK is capped at 20mg/ml. Most prefilled pods are sold at either 10mg or 20mg. Heavier ex-smokers usually go for 20mg, while lighter users or those cutting down often prefer 10mg. Pod capacity is capped at 2ml of e-liquid, which works out at roughly 600 to 700 puffs per pod, depending on how you vape.
How to Store and Replace Prefilled Pods
Store unused pods upright, somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight. Heat and light break down e-liquid over time and can dull the flavour before you even open them.
When you click a fresh pod into your device, give it two or three minutes to let the wick soak up the e-liquid before your first puff. This stops the coil firing dry and avoids that horrible burnt taste. When the pod starts to taste weak, muted or harsh, it is done: pop it out and click in a new one.
