What is a Vape Coil?

A Vape Coil is the part inside a vape tank that heats up every time you press the fire button on your device. The heat produced is what vaporizes your E-liquid and turns it into lovely vapour.
The Vape Coil is made of wire and has what is called "wick" wrapped around it. Nowadays, this wick is usually high-quality organic cotton. The wick itself Soaks up your e-liquid, and when your coil inside heats, that juice is then vapourised.
The coil's wire is made of different material, with stainless steel or kanthal being popular manufacturers choices.
Over the last couple of years, mesh coils have been becoming more popular. Mesh produces even better flavour and more vapour due to more surface area of the wick being in contact with the coil.

How long do vape coils last?

Everyone in the vape industry hates this question as there is no definitive answer. Vape coils can last anything from 4-5 days in high powered devices and sometimes up to 2-3 weeks in a low powered device with a social vaper using it.
It's also understandably one of the first questions that new vapers will ask, so we will attempt to give a rough guide and some tips on how you can make vape coils last longer.

Rough Guide to Coil life

• Light Vaping with a low powered vape kit:10-14 day on average
• Moderate vaping with a low powered device: 7-10 days on average
• Heavy Vaping with a low powered device: 5-7 days on average
• High powered devices coils will last anywhere from 4-8 days, dependent on use.

How do can you make vape coils last longer?

You can make vape coils last a bit longer and get the very best out of the vape experience by following these tips.

• Keep your tank filled with E-liquids  – Allowing your tank to run empty will cause dry hits and shorten your coil life.
• Prime Brand New coils – make sure the e-liquid has had the chance to thoroughly saturate the wick by leaving the tank filled with juice for 10-15 minutes before vaping. You could also give the tanks a couple of puffs without pressing the fire button to pull liquid onto the wick.
• High powered devices with a new replacement vape coil installed – Start vaping at a lower wattage and gradually build the power-up.
